What we offer:
We currently offer 2 distinct ISEE practice tests for each level: Lower, Middle, and Upper.

Each test includes the full-length Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement, and Essay section.

These true-to-the-ISEE complete practice exams are ready use.

Why our Tests are worth your Money and your student’s Time:
We were asked by a parent (who then purchased our tests):
“Do you think your practice tests are better than Kaplan’s, Princeton Review’s, etc.? If so… Why?”

Without commenting in detail on the shortcomings of each of these ISEE texts (you can read about some of their flaws in Amazon.com’s product reviews), let us start by saying, we did not write our ISEE practice tests with the intention to replace the already published test-prep texts. We wrote our tests because, as tutors ourselves, we know there have not been enough full-length practice tests to best prepare our students.

If one of us were tutoring your child, we would actually recommend you to buy another company’s textbook in addition to our practice tests (and in addition to printing the free practice tests downloadable from the ERB). Ideally a student will have five or more practice tests with which to prepare.

That said, as tutors, we have used the various textbooks out there and we do believe our tests are the best.

We wrote all of our ISEE material after studying the ERBs ISEE practice materials (which best reflect the actual ISEE). It is our impression that our tests are most similar to the real ISEE both in difficulty and in structure.

For example, on the Verbal Reasoning (VR) section of the test, the structure of the questions differs slightly among the 3 levels of the test. Not only is the Upper Level section more difficult, but there are double-blank sentence completions (instead of only single-blank sentence completions, as on the Middle Level). On the Lower Level VR, there are not only single-blank sentence completions but also sentence completions whose answer choices consist of whole phrases (rather than only one-word blanks as on the Middle and Upper Level VR). We have yet to find an ISEE textbook whose practice tests reflect these differences (However, our practice tests at iseepracticetest.com do).

Not only do the textbooks on the market not reflect all the nuances of the ISEE, but some even have content that likely derives from other tests. We have seen an Upper Level ISEE essay question (by one of the leading test prep companies) that is just like an ACT essay question and totally non-representative of an ISEE question. (The ACT, like the SAT, is a college entrance exam.) Additionally, many of the textbooks offer reading passages that are more difficult and “boring” than a student is likely to find on the ISEE (they more resemble SAT passages). We assume this is either because the test writers did not thoroughly study the ISEE or because they adapted passages that were written for other tests.

However, all of our ISEE practice test content was created specifically for the ISEE. Like the test prep giants, we may have a typo here or there (though we will correct any if you find them!), but we know our tests are truer to the ISEE in form, content, and level of difficulty than any other currently available full-length tests.
